These strains originate from the female distal urethra (the furthest part of the cylindrical cavity that connects the bladder to the outside of the body). Microbiol Intiem contains 5 billion cfu (colony forming units, i.e., the number of viable bacteria capable of multiplying and forming a colony).

Chr. Hansen is the producer of these bacterial strains and has been responsible for the extensive research on these specific strains, in the combination in which they are now offered. This is quite unique and very important! One bacterial strain (indicated by a suffix like GR-1) is not the same as another, even if they belong to the same genus (in this case, Lactobacillus) and the same species (Lactobacillus rhamnosus).
