The magnesium in Magnesium Organic comes entirely from a natural source: sea lettuce (Latin name Ulva lactuca). This edible seaweed, which resembles common lettuce, is found in all seas and grows primarily on rocks near the coast. The sea lettuce used for Magnesium Organic is harvested in specially selected areas in Europe where the water is as clean as possible. The seaweed is manually removed from the rocks, ensuring that some of it remains attached to the rock so it can fully regrow. This is a highly sustainable harvesting method. The sea lettuce is then dried in special greenhouses using solar energy. The next step is a specially developed extraction process using seawater. After a second drying step, a sea lettuce powder containing no less than 25% magnesium is created. Vitals processes this powder into an organically certified magnesium supplement.
