Natural forms are often indicated with a "d-" prefix (e.g., d-alpha-tocopherol), while synthetic forms often contain "dl-" (e.g., dl-alpha-tocopherol). Natural forms of vitamin E are better absorbed and have greater biological activity than synthetic forms.
