Vitakruid Vitamin D3 & K2 in MCT oil for increased absorption
Vitamin D3: the sunshine vitamin
Vitamin D3 is a fat-soluble vitamin and is known as the sunshine vitamin.
Our body can produce D3 itself when the skin is exposed to sunlight. In addition, vitamin D3 occurs in small amounts in food, such as fatty fish (salmon, mackerel, anchovies) and in mushrooms (D2) that have been exposed to light. A supplement can be a valuable way to support your vitamin D3 intake.
Why is vitamin D supplementation important?
In the Netherlands, the sun is only powerful enough for part of the year to provide the skin with sufficient radiation. As a result, natural production is often limited and it is necessary for many people to get extra vitamin D3 from other sources, such as a vitamin D supplement.
Vitamin K2:
Vitamin K2, also known as menaquinone, is an important nutrient that supports various processes in the body. There are two different forms of vitamin K, vitamin K1 and K2. Vitamin K1 is mainly found in leafy greens such as spinach, endive and kale. Vitamin K2 is found in small amounts in animal products such as dairy, eggs, meat and in fermented food products such as natto (a Japanese soy preparation).
Collaboration of vitamin D and K in the body
Vitamin D in the most absorbable form
Vitamin D has two different forms: ergocalciferol (D2) from plant sources and cholecalciferol (D3) from animal sources. Vitamin D3 is identical to the vitamin our body produces under the influence of sunlight. This form is therefore the most natural and the most absorbable variant for our body.
In these vitamin D3 & K2 softgels, D3 is used which is extracted from the wool of live sheep in Australia and New Zealand. This way you benefit from a well-absorbable and reliable vitamin D3 supplement.
Vitamin K2 in the active form MK-7
Vitamin K2 occurs in multiple variants, referred to as MK-4 to MK-14. For our Vitamin D3 & K2 softgels, we exclusively choose menaquinone-7 (MK-7). This form of vitamin K2 is the most stable form and the best absorbable. While vitamin K1 remains active in the body for only one to two hours, vitamin K2 MK-7 has a half-life of over 72 hours. This means that this biologically active form has enough time to reach the blood vessels, bones and other tissues in the body.
100% natural
Our vitamin K2 is naturally obtained through fermentation with Bacillus subtilis natto. Through careful standardization (10,000 ppm), each softgel contains 40 µg of vitamin K2 MK-7. This way you always have a pure and consistent dosage.
MCT oil as a carrier for the best absorption of vitamin D and K
Vitamin D3 and K2 are fat-soluble vitamins and are therefore better absorbed when dissolved in oil. In our softgels, we use MCT oil as a carrier. This light, stable oil is easily digestible and ensures a fast and efficient absorption of the vitamins. This way you benefit from optimal bioavailability in a pure and reliable form.
