Vitakruid Vitamin D3 25mcg & K2 40mcg (menaq7)
Vitamin D3: the sunshine vitamin
The main source of vitamin D3 is sunlight. Our bodies can produce this fat-soluble vitamin in the skin when exposed to sunlight. Vitamin D3 is also found in small amounts in foods, such as oily fish (salmon, mackerel, anchovies) and mushrooms (D2) that have been exposed to light. Supplements can be a valuable way to ensure sufficient vitamin D3 intake.
Why is a vitamin D supplement helpful for many people?
In the Netherlands, the sun is only strong enough to provide the skin with sufficient radiation for part of the year. As a result, natural production is often limited, and many people need to get supplemental vitamin D3 from other sources, such as a vitamin D tablet.
Vitamin K2
There are two forms of vitamin K. Vitamin K1 is primarily found in leafy greens like kale, endive, and spinach. Vitamin K2, on the other hand, is only found in small amounts in animal products like meat, eggs, and dairy, and in fermented foods like natto (a Japanese soybean preparation).
The most absorbable form of vitamin D
Vitamin D comes in two forms: ergocalciferol (D2) from plant sources and cholecalciferol (D3) from animal sources. Vitamin D3 is identical to the vitamin our body produces in the skin under the influence of sunlight. Therefore, this is the form the body can best absorb and utilize.
For our Vitamin D3 & K2 tablets, vitamin D3 is extracted from the wool of live sheep in Australia and New Zealand. This origin makes the product completely vegetarian, while you benefit from the natural, easily absorbable form of vitamin D.
Vitamin K2 in its most absorbable form
Vitamin K2 comes in various forms, designated MK-4 through MK-14. In our Vitamin D3 & K2 tablets, we use exclusively menaquinone-7 (MK-7) – the form that the body absorbs best and remains active for the longest time. While vitamin K1 is only available in the body for one to two hours, MK-7 has a half-life of over 72 hours.
Naturally produced
Our vitamin K2 is naturally obtained through fermentation with Bacillus subtilis natto. Thanks to careful standardization (10,000 ppm), each tablet delivers exactly 40 µg of vitamin K2 – a pure and reliable dose.
Reliable dosage in tablet form
Tablets are practical and suitable for vegetarians. Our tablets contain 25 mcg of D3 and 40 mcg of K2. They're also easy to take daily, have a long shelf life, and maintain their quality without the addition of unnecessary preservatives. This ensures you get the same, reliable dose of vitamin D3 and K2 every time.
