Folate is the biologically active form of folic acid
Folic acid is the synthetic form of vitamin B11. Folate is the so-called biologically available or active form of folic acid and therefore much better absorbed. Before our body can absorb folic acid, it must undergo two conversion processes. First from folic acid to dihydrofolate (DHF), then to tetrahydrofolate (THF) and only then become folate (5-MTHF). When you take folate in a supplement, it is immediately available to our body and therefore much more effective!
Quatrefolic®, the fourth generation of folate
Quatrefolic®, also called the fourth generation of folate, has superior bioavailability compared to other forms of folate. Vitakruid guarantees stability by binding with glucosamine salt instead of calcium salt (the third generation of folate).
