From Then Frankincense bio
Frankincense essential oil (also called frankincense oil or olibanum oil) is obtained by steam distillation of the resin of the Indian frankincense tree.
Frankincense oil is extracted from the resin of the Indian frankincense tree. The oil is dark and somewhat viscous, which explains its consistency. Frankincense oil has been used for thousands of years.
- Obtained by steam distillation of the resin of the Indian frankincense tree
- Aroma/fragrance: earthy, warm, spicy, camphor-like
- Organic: SKAL certified
- Processed under ISO standards: ISO9235
- GMO-free, Cruelty-free, Free from preservatives or additives
- Food grade, although it is rarely used in cooking due to its slightly medicinal taste
- Origin: India
Ingredients (INCI)
Boswellia Serrata Oil* * Organic
Usage
- Evaporation: Frankincense's scent is incredibly recognizable. It smells very spicy, woody, resinous, and balsamic. Similar notes are also found in myrrh, pepper, or conifers. This scent is also often used as incense, so that also evokes associations. Adding a drop to fresh scents like pine or peppermint will give the scent a more spicy touch. Adding a drop to sweet orange, for example, will add a spicy note—also truly delightful!
- Care: add to base oil for a wonderful skin care or massage.
- Use a few drops in your bath water, in a diffuser in your (living) room or in oil to create a massage oil
Warnings
Essential oils are highly concentrated natural substances. Use them with caution; never apply them undiluted to the skin, except for a few essential oils recommended by an aromatherapist.
For external use only.
Keep essential oils away from children. If you are pregnant or have high blood pressure, heart problems, or other medical conditions, seek medical advice before use. Even if you have very sensitive skin, it's best to ask for advice or do a patch test on a small area of your skin.
