What is this medicine used for?
Thermacare naturally and effectively relieves muscle and joint pain caused by muscle strains, stiffness, sprains, muscle tension or osteoarthritis
Directions for use
Open the packaging just before use.
Place Thermacare on the painful area.
Wear for 8 hours to relieve pain for up to 16 hours. It may take up to 30 minutes for Thermacare to reach its therapeutic temperature.
If you are 55 or older, wear Thermacare over a piece of clothing.
Do not use on the same part of the body for more than 8 hours in any 24 hour period.
Do not apply additional pressure to the product, wear a tight bandage or belt over it.
Stop use if the product feels too warm or wear the compress over your clothing and not directly on your skin.
Stop use and consult a doctor:
- If you experience any discomfort, a burn, swelling or other permanent skin change where you used the product.
- If, after 7 days, the pain has not decreased or has worsened.
ThermaCare compresses are single-use. Never heat ThermaCare in the microwave, as they can ignite.
The heating elements contain iron (-2g). In case of ingestion or contact with your skin or eyes, remove the compress, rinse the affected area with water, and consult a doctor immediately.
Contraindications
Do not use:
- in combination with creams against muscle pain, medicinal ointments or other heat sources
- on damaged skin
- if you have any bruises or swelling that has occurred in the past 48 hours.
- on parts of the body that are insensitive to heat.
- if the contents of the heat compress leak and/or if the compress is damaged or torn.
- on persons who cannot remove the product without assistance or who are unable to follow all of the instructions for use, such as children and certain elderly persons.
Consult your doctor before use:
If you have diabetes, if you have circulation problems, if you have heart disease or rheumatoid arthritis or if you are pregnant.

To avoid increased risk of burns, remove product before an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scan.
