Lemongrass, also called lemon grass, is a perennial, reed-like aromatic grass cultivated in Asia and South America. Lemongrass can grow up to 3 meters tall in dense forests. The coarse, reed-like leaves have a strong citrusy scent and are used fresh as a spice in Asian and Vietnamese cuisine. The essential oil is used in perfumery.
