Fish collagen hydrolysate is extracted from the skin and bones of fish and is identical to human collagen. "Hydrolyzed" means it is enzymatically broken down, breaking the collagen down into smaller amino acid chains. This makes it more readily absorbed by your body.
The chemical structure: (determined in 1930 in the laboratory of Karl Meyer) a macromolecular chain of disaccharides, each consisting of two glucose derivatives: D-glucuronic acid and N-acetyl-D-glucosamine.
