The Medela PersonalFit™ PLUS double pump set is a personal pump set specially developed for the professional Symphony breast pump, known from hospitals and available for home rental. The Symphony breast pump helps you initiate, build, and maintain adequate milk production. The pump set is easy to assemble, clean, and sterilize. Clinical studies comparing the PersonalFit™ PLUS pump set with the standard pump set showed that PersonalFit™ PLUS provided more milk, more comfort, and more efficiency. The PersonalFit™ PLUS pump set produces 11% more milk and ensures 4% better breast drainage. In addition, double pumping provides milk with a higher fat content and is finished faster than pumping one breast at a time.
The breast shield of the new Medela PersonalFit™ PLUS pump set has a wider opening angle of 105°, which provides a better fit. This helps prevent compression of the milk ducts, promoting milk flow. The shield also has an oval shape that can be rotated 360°, allowing you to position it in the best way for your breast.
The Medela PersonalFit™ PLUS pump set also features a new connector. It consists of fewer and larger parts, making it easier to maintain and clean. It also has built-in overflow protection. This overflow protection prevents milk from flowing back into the pump when used correctly, allowing you to pump in a relaxed position.
The breast shield is designed to be connected to a breast pump using a connector, after which vacuum can be applied to the breast and breast milk can be directed to a collection unit, e.g. a bottle.
Usage
The reusable PersonalFit PLUS breast shield is compatible with the reusable Medela Symphony pump sets and with the Medela Swing maxi, Swing, Freestyle and Harmony breast pumps.
PersonalFit PLUS breast shields are available in different sizes.

Cleaning and hygiene
- Clean the breast shield thoroughly before using it for the first time. Follow both steps "After each use" and "Once a day."
- Clean the breast shield immediately after use to prevent milk residue from drying up and to prevent bacterial growth.
- Use only drinking quality water for cleaning.
- Be careful not to damage any parts when using a brush.
- Do not use abrasive dishwashing/cleaning agents to clean the breast pump, any parts of the breast pump, or any parts of the pump set.
Before first use / after each use
- Rinse the breastshield with cold, clean water (approximately 20 °C).
- Clean it in plenty of warm soapy water (approximately 30°C). Preferably use dishwashing liquid without artificial fragrances and dyes.
(pH neutral).
- Rinse in cold, clean water (approx. 20 °C).
- As an alternative to manual cleaning, you can also clean the breast shield in the dishwasher.
- Place it on the top rack or in the cutlery basket.
- Use a standard dishwashing detergent.
Before first use / once a day
- Make sure the breast shield is submerged in water and let it boil for at least 5 minutes. Instead of boiling, you can use Quick Clean bags in the microwave according to the instructions.
Drying / storage
- Dry the parts with a clean cloth or place them on a clean cloth to dry.
Store the breast shield in a clean storage bag or in a clean environment. Do not store it in an airtight container or bag. It is important that any remaining moisture dries out.

Choosing the right size PersonalFit PLUS breast shield
Your breast shield size can change over the course of your pumping period. The breast shield should fit properly at all times during this time. A well-fitting breast shield helps prevent compression of the milk ducts during pumping, ensuring optimal breast emptying and maximum milk expression.
