The way this cherry stone pillow works is because the completely dry cherry stones are charged with heat and release this heat directly to the affected body parts. Moreover, the cherry stone pillow doesn't cool down as much as a conventional water-filled hot water bottle.
The cherry stone pillow can also be used as a cooling compress. In that case, chill it in the freezer and refrigerator.
Usage
Heat the cherry pit bag in the microwave or oven.
Microwave:
Microwave a small amount of water. The steam will prevent the kernels from drying out and promote a longer shelf life.
Carefully place the cherry pit pillow in the center of the turntable in your microwave. Always remove the rack from the microwave.
Set the microwave power to a maximum of 600W and heat the pillow for about 1 minute.
If the desired temperature has not yet been reached, extend the heating time in steps of 15 seconds.
Make sure the cherry stone pillow doesn't obstruct the proper rotation of the turntable. If the microwave oven doesn't have a turntable, rotate the pillow halfway through the heating process to ensure even heating.
Oven:
Heat the cherry stone pillow in a covered ovenproof dish in the center of the oven at a maximum temperature of 130°C. Heat the pillow for about 10 minutes.
Turn the cherry stone pillow halfway through cooking time for even heating.
