FOS is easy to use. It's a sweet, soluble powder that dissolves easily in hot drinks or can be sprinkled on food.

Fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS) extracted from chicory.
Usage
FOS can be used in two ways: a low dose as a prebiotic (bowel conditioner) or a higher dose (building and maintaining regulation):
Prebiotic: start maintenance
Adults 5.0g 10g
Children from 2 years 5g
Build up and maintain regulation: start (3 days) normal dose maximum dose
(per day)
Adults 5.0g try 15g 20g
Children 2.5g try 5g 10g
Dissolve the recommended amount in hot drinks, water or fruit juice or during meals: one level dessert spoon = 5 grams.
FOS can cause temporary flatulence. If this lasts longer than 3 days, it is recommended to reduce the dosage. If significant flatulence occurs at the indicated dosage, reduce the dosage and then gradually increase it to the recommended dosage. The flatulence, which usually disappears within a few days, is a positive sign that the FOS is reaching the intestine and nourishing the gut flora.
When taking more than 10 grams (5 grams for children) per day, it is recommended to divide the dose into two equal portions, one at the beginning and one at the end of the day. This can prevent or reduce the occurrence of initial flatulence.
