Klinion Mesitran wound ointment
L-mesitran Wound Ointment
- Antibacterial properties.
- Dilutes gradually and is easy to remove in accordance with current wound protocol.
- prevents adhesion of the secondary dressing to the wound bed.
What is this medicine used for?
Superficial and acute wounds, e.g., abrasions, cuts, and skin graft donor sites. First- and second-degree burns.
Chronic wounds, e.g., pressure ulcers, venous, arterial, and diabetic ulcers. Oncological wounds (helps deodorize and debride). Colonized acute and (postoperative) surgical wounds.
Directions for use
A. Tube: 1. Remove the cap, clean the mouth of the tube and the top of the cap with alcohol. 2. Push the tip of the cap into the seal without squeezing the tube.
Apply to the wound:
1. Use a sterile spatula to apply a thin layer of L-mesitran either directly to the wound and surrounding tissue or first to a sterile gauze pad. 2. Cover the wound and secure it with an appropriate secondary dressing, depending on the amount of exudate. 3. Inspect the wound and surrounding tissue regularly according to the current wound protocol.
Contraindications
Do not use in patients sensitive to the product or its ingredients.
Ingredients
48% medicinal honey, hypoallergenic lanolin (medilan), sunflower oil, cod liver oil, calendula officinalis, aloe barbadensis, vitamin C & E and zinc oxide.
Warnings
Always consult a doctor for wound treatment advice.
Inspect and clean the wound according to the applicable protocol. Autolytic bridement (dissolving dead tissue) may make the wound appear larger after the first dressing changes. This is normal and occurs due to the removal of dead tissue, which prepares the wound bed for healing.
In case of sensitivity to L-Mesitran: remove the product and carefully clean the wound area.
Use L-Mesitran only on one patient; the product may be reused on the same patient. Close the container tightly after each use.
Storage advice
Store at room temperature between 5°C and 25°C. Avoid direct sunlight and moisture.
Due to the influence of higher temperatures the product may become liquid; if desired, place it in the refrigerator before use.
Other information
Medical device. Read the instructions for use before use.
