The active ingredient in Hübner Original Silicea® cold sore gel is silica gel, a compound formed by the mineral silicon (Si), oxygen and water.
One of the remarkable properties of silica gel besides its soothing effect on burning and itching sensations is its high adhesion capacity to secretions.
This means that the secretions from the cold sore are bound by the gel and the blisters are systematically dried out.
This helps limit the spread of the virus. It reduces tingling, burning, and itching.

Gel for external use for cold sores (Herpes labialis)
Directions for use
Adults and children 12 years and older: At the first sign of an infection, dab the required amount of cold sore gel onto the affected areas. Repeat this up to five times a day.

2g gel contains 1.9g silica gel as active ingredient. Other ingredients: Pentylene glycol, carrageenan, a-bisabolol, potassium sorbate, citric acid solution.
Storage advice
