Heltiq Wound Closure Strips
- Hold wound edges together
- Minimizes scar formation
What is this medicine used for?
For stitching together minor cuts and wounds.
Directions for use
1. Before placing the wound closure strips, ensure that the wound is thoroughly dry and that the wound edges are free of blood and dirt.
2. If the wound is still bleeding, apply pressure for another 10 minutes until it stops bleeding. If the wound is bleeding, the adhesive strips will not adhere properly, and the wound edges will separate.
3. Open the packaging of the wound closure strips and take the wound closure strip with tweezers or with your fingers.
4. Apply half of the wound closure strip to one side of the wound. Press the strip firmly into place. Then bring the wound edges together with your fingers and close the other half of the wound.
5. Continue to hold the wound edges together until several wound closure strips have been applied.
6. Then place several wound closure strips over the wound in the same way, with the strips having the same width as a wound closure strip between them.
