Usage
Application HeltiQ Maternity Package
Step 1: Start preparing your maternity bed from 36 weeks of pregnancy.
Step 2. Raise your bed to at least 80 cm using (rented) blocks or use crates.
Step 3. Take the mattress protector from the maternity package. You'll use this to protect your mattress if your water breaks during the night. Place the mattress protector width-wise on the mattress where your lower body rests and pull the mattress protector over the mattress.
Step 4. Place a fitted sheet over the mattress and mattress protector.
Step 5. Take the two maternity mattresses and place them on top of the fitted sheet where the lower body rests on the mattress.
Step 6. If you prefer not to lie directly on the maternity mattresses, place an extra fitted sheet over the bed.
Step 7. The underlays are used during home births and for checks by the midwife and maternity nurse during the postpartum period. You can also use the underlays as extra protection for your bed in addition to maternity mattresses.
What do you use the other products in the maternity package for?
The midwife uses the umbilical cord clamp during home births to clamp the umbilical cord.
You use maternity pads when your waters have broken and in the first few days after delivery.
You use the sanitary pad when your blood loss decreases.
Use the bottle of alcohol and the cotton wool to disinfect the baby's thermometer. The maternity nurse will also use this to disinfect the mother's thermometer.
The gauze compresses and the adhesive tape are used by the midwife and maternity nurse for wound care.
You use the nursing pads to collect breast milk during breastfeeding.
