Heltiq Insulation/Rescue Blanket
HeltiQ Insulation Blanket is an aluminum foil rescue blanket that protects against overheating and hypothermia. The insulation blanket has a gold and a silver side and can be used in two ways. When you turn the gold side towards the body, it reflects the sunlight against the silver side, preventing overheating of the body. When you turn the silver side towards the body, the insulation blanket retains body heat, preventing hypothermia.
You can also use the insulation blanket as sun protection by placing the gold side over the victim, or over the means of transport in which the victim is located. In this way, you protect the victim from the sun's heat if emergency services have not yet arrived. The HeltiQ Insulation Blanket measures 210 x 160 cm and is compactly packaged. This makes it easy to use for the victim and easy to carry.

The HeltiQ Insulation Blanket is a large aluminum foil blanket that you can use for overheating or hypothermia.OverheatingPlace the victim in a cool environment, cool cramped muscle(s) if necessaryAllow the victim to rest and avoid exertionIf possible, let the victim drink not-too-cold (sports) drinksImmediately wrap the victim in the insulation blanket with the silver-colored side facing outIf necessary, notify a doctor if the victim's condition does not quickly improve HypothermiaIn case of severe hypothermia, immediately notify a doctor, meanwhile take the following measures:Protect the victim from the windKeep the victim lying down as much as possible and remove wet clothing if possibleImmediately wrap the person in the insulation blanket, with the gold-colored side facing out to prevent further coolingGive the victim something warm to drink, preferably not coffee, definitely no alcohol, and warm the person up slowly (never rub vigorously) Phases of hypothermia1st phase: The victim feels cold, the body shivers, a feeling of hunger develops, and a rapid pulse2nd phase: The victim has limited mobility, stutters, has slow reflexes, and becomes apathetic (wants to sleep)3rd phase: If nothing is done about the hypothermia, unconsciousness will occur, and the victim may die of cardiac arrest Warning!Heat loss in water is particularly high. Therefore, drowning victims are almost always hypothermic. In case of severe hypothermia, always seek professional help.
