Heltiq Insulated blanket
The HeltiQ Insulated Blanket is an aluminum foil rescue blanket that protects against overheating and hypothermia. The blanket has a gold and a silver side and can be used in two ways. When you turn the gold side toward your body, it reflects sunlight onto the silver side, preventing overheating. When you turn the silver side toward your body, the blanket retains body heat and prevents hypothermia.
You can also use the insulated blanket as sun protection by placing the gold side over the victim or the vehicle they are in. This protects them from the sun's heat before emergency services arrive. The HeltiQ Insulated Blanket measures 210 x 160 cm and is compactly packed. This makes it easy to apply to the victim and easy to carry.

Directions for use
The HeltiQ Insulating Blanket is a large aluminum foil blanket that you can use in case of overheating or hypothermia.
Overheating
Place the victim in a cool environment and cool any cramped muscle(s).
Let the victim rest and do not exert himself
If possible, do not let the victim drink too cold (sports) drinks
Immediately wrap the victim in the insulating blanket with the silver side facing outwards
If the victim's condition does not improve quickly, consult a doctor if necessary.
Hypothermia
In case of severe hypothermia, seek medical advice immediately and take the following measures in the meantime:
Protect the victim from the wind
Keep the victim lying down as much as possible and remove wet clothing if possible
Immediately wrap the person in the insulation blanket, with the gold side facing outwards to prevent further cooling.
Give the victim something warm to drink, preferably no coffee, and certainly no alcohol, and warm the person slowly (never rub hard).
Stages of hypothermia
1st stage: The victim feels cold, the body starts to shiver, a feeling of hunger and a rapid pulse develop
2nd phase: The victim is not very mobile, stammers, has slow reflexes and becomes apathetic (wants to sleep)
3rd stage: If nothing is done about hypothermia, unconsciousness will occur and the victim may die from cardiac arrest.
Warning!
Heat loss in water is particularly high. Therefore, drowning people almost always suffer from hypothermia. In the event of severe hypothermia, always seek professional help.
