The fabric consists of a material that is not or very poorly flammable, whether or not coated with a fire-retardant agent. By depriving the fire of oxygen, the fire is extinguished. A fire blanket is a very easy-to-use extinguishing agent that requires little knowledge to extinguish a small, incipient fire, for example in a kitchen.
Usage
Pull the fire blanket by the handles (hands down) Hold the fire blanket in front of your body as protection against the flames and slide it completely over the source of the fire. Turn off the heat source. Leave the fire blanket in place until the source of the fire has cooled down. If necessary, call the fire department. Extinguishing a clothing fire: Roll the victim in the blanket until the flames are extinguished. Call 112 for medical assistance.
