Great skin restorer
The oil for supple muscles
Deep red macerate
100% natural and organic
Did you know that this plant is native to our country and grows wild? You can find St. John's wort growing on roadsides, grasslands, and forest edges. St. John's wort has radiant yellow flowers that bloom from June to September. Each flower consists of five petals and is dotted with dark oil glands filled with essential oil, resin, and the red pigment hypericin.
Skin care & massage
St. John's wort macerate is used in skincare to support the skin's self-healing capacity. It's a wonderful, soothing oil for after sun exposure and for rough or chapped skin. St. John's wort is also a popular massage oil for keeping muscles supple!
What is a macerate?
The name macerate comes from the Latin word "macerare," which literally means "to soak." Maceration is the traditional way to use essential oils and other active ingredients from a plant for the skin. For maceration, the plant parts are soaked for a month or longer in a good-quality olive oil. The glass jars are sealed and placed in the sun. Gradually, the flowers release their oil-soluble substances into the olive oil. The macerate becomes increasingly reddish in color. After this period, the oil is strained, and the macerate is ready. The color of St. John's wort macerate should be deep red if it is of good quality.
This macerate is a 10% solution of St. John's wort in olive oil.
This macerate is enhanced with a natural antioxidant from rosemary CO2 extract. This organic CO2 extract comes from the needles of the rosemary plant and is dissolved in sunflower oil. A small percentage of this natural antioxidant is added to the macerate by the farmer. Because fresh flowers, leaves, or roots are used in the macerate's production, macerates are vulnerable to mold and other contaminants. This natural antioxidant extends the macerate's shelf life!
Ingredients (INCI)
Hypericum perforatum flower extract, Olea europaea fruit oil, Rosmarinus officinalis leaf extract, Helianthus annuus seed oil.
Usage
For a massage oil with St. John's wort macerate, you can use 100ml of fatty plant oil and optionally add 10 – 15 drops of essential oil.
Storage advice
Store in a closed container. Refrigerate the oil when using it infrequently.
Warnings
When used internally, St. John's wort can interact with medications. Therefore, always consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking St. John's wort internally.
Be careful with the sun when applying St. John's wort macerate to your skin, especially if you have fair and sun-sensitive skin.
The shelf life of St. John's wort is approximately 1 year.
