Chi Shea butter organic
About shea butter:
Shea butter is a must-have for daily skincare! It keeps skin soft and supple and contributes to firmness. Shea butter is a cold-pressed butter extracted from the nuts of the shea butter tree and has been used in skincare in Africa for centuries.
Shea butter is a valuable, premium product for skin care. Compared to all other plant fats and oils, shea butter has the highest percentage of so-called lipid accompaniments, including—primarily—triterpene alcohols, vitamin E, provitamin A, and allantoin.
Key Ingredients and Functions in Shea Butter:
Triterpene alcohols are components of plant fats and protect the leaf surface from dehydration. It's no wonder the tree tolerates drought so well. Shea butter offers this same moisture-retaining property for our skin.
Allantoin has a protective and soothing effect on the skin and it helps the skin's ability to recover.
Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant. Antioxidants protect against harmful effects such as pollution and prevent free radicals from damaging collagen and elastin fibers. Vitamin E is responsible for the light UV protection factor.
Provitamin A is also a powerful antioxidant. It also stimulates collagen production and has a beneficial effect on pigmentation and age spots.
Skin care:
Shea butter has a firm texture but melts easily, with a melting point between 28 and 36°C, so it melts easily onto your skin! It absorbs surprisingly quickly and doesn't leave a greasy film. Shea butter blends well with other plant oils, providing firmness in a mixture and stabilizing the other ingredients. A balm with a shea butter base spreads easily on the skin and leaves it supple and soft. Shea butter is ideal for use as an aftershave butter. Thanks to its restorative properties, you can use shea butter for rough and chapped skin. This butter is also frequently used in hair care.
Did you know:
Hundreds of millions of people in Africa, Asia and South America use only effective, local plant oils for their daily skin care?
The shea tree can produce up to 20 kg of fruit per year. First, the pulp is removed, which then yields a harvest of about 4 kg of nuts. The 4 cm long nuts are shelled and then pressed. The final harvest of shea butter is about 1.5 kg. The nuts contain up to 50% fat. Before processing, the nuts can be lightly roasted.
The shea tree only produces its first fruit after twenty years? After that, it takes about forty years for the tree to reach its full potential.
The old name Butyrospermum parkii refers to the explorer Mungo Park who encountered the shea butter tree mainly in Senegal and discovered the butter
Ingredients (INCI)
