The oil is not so suitable for the lamp, but is a very good oil on the skin.
Manuka trees are native to New Zealand's North Island and are related to the large tea tree family. The scent of manuka oil is unique and unmistakable: spicy, earthy, and slightly animalic. While not ideal for use in a lamp, it is very effective on the skin. It is one of the strongest antifungal oils (for candida, athlete's foot) and can be helpful in soothing itchy and red skin. In shampoo, manuka can replace the more common tea tree oil for head lice control.
