A sweet and spicy oil, somewhat reminiscent of mint, is distilled from the seeds of the dill plant. It is a warming and antispasmodic oil that can be evaporated for spasmodic coughs (and other respiratory complaints). The oil helps loosen mucus. It combines well with frankincense oil. As a flavoring, dill can be added to a fatty oil for egg dishes, fish, or potatoes. For topical use, the essential oil should be mixed with a massage oil or fatty plant oil.
