Epsom salt
Epsom salt is a different type of salt than table salt. It's a mineral compound of magnesium and sulfate, composed of small, colorless crystals that resemble table salt. Epsom salt has endless uses and should definitely be a part of your household.
- Bath salts – Epsom salts are well absorbed into the body in warm water, the salt can have a therapeutic effect.
- Scrub salt – Rub a handful of Epsom salt over damp skin to remove dead skin cells. Afterwards, your skin will feel softer and look healthier.
- Foot bath – add half a cup of Epsom salt to a foot bath
Natural facial cleanser – mix a teaspoon of Epsom salt with your regular facial cleanser for easy cleansing.
- Extra volume – mix some conditioner with epsom salt and leave it in for about 15 minutes, then rinse your hair for extra volume.
- Burnt-on pans – sprinkle some Epsom salt on your dirty dishes before scrubbing. The texture of Epsom salt helps loosen stuck-on food without damaging cookware.
- Hand soap – mix 1 part epsom salt with 1 part baby oil to make a moisturizing hand soap.
- Clean the washing machine – fill an empty washing machine with warm water, add 250ml of vinegar and a cup of Epsom salts. Let the machine run for about 1 minute, then stop the cycle. Let the solution sit for 1 hour.
