Akolip is transparent, so it doesn't further accentuate the annoying cold sores. An advantage of Akolip is that it can also be used after the cold sores have already formed. Apply the gel in a thick layer 4-6 times a day.

Akolip is used for blisters on or around the lips. Akolip contains zinc sulfate and is a cooling, clear gel that doesn't exacerbate cold sores.
