Apply a sufficient amount of unmixed colorant to a spot the size of a penny behind the ear with a cotton swab. Repeat this and let it dry in between. Carefully reseal the container and use it again after 48 hours for the color treatment. Wait 48 hours without washing, covering, or touching the area. If a reaction such as itching, redness, or swelling of the test area is observed during the test period, do not use this colorant.
